Jean Quinn signs book of condolence for Kofi Annan

The founder of Sophia, Jean Quinn is the Executive Director of Unanima International, a UN-based group of women religious which is made up of 20,000 people located across 80 countries. Jean recently signed a book of condolence for the former UN Secretary-General and Nobel Peace prize winner Kofi Annan.

His report We the Peoples: The Role of the UN in the 21st Century called to all member states to commit to an action plan to end poverty, improve education and reduce HIV/AIDS is still as relevant today as it was 18 years ago. But perhaps Kofi Annan's commitment to the eradication of poverty is best enshrined in the Millennium Development Goals, a precursor to the Sustainable Development Goals has had a profound effect on NGOs across the world, including Sophia.
