Appointment of Geoff Corcoran as Head of Development at Sophia

The Board of Sophia Housing Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Geoff Corcoran as Head of Development. Geoff took up his position on the 9th of April.

Prior to his appointment with Sophia, Geoff had been working with Cooperative Housing Ireland and comes with a track record of having successfully implemented the organisations expansion and growth strategy, working on numerous medium and large scale housing projects and developing over 1000 new homes.

Geoff will be working alongside CEO Tony O’Riordan and Development Manager Sinead McCallion who has been central to the growth of Sophia over the past 20 years, from an office in Inchicore to a nationwide organization which at any one time houses and supports over 600 people.

His experience in advocacy with Threshold, Citizen Information and Tallaght Homeless Advice Unit align Geoff’s values with those of Sophia, which are centred around providing holistic support to those recovering from the trauma of homelessness.

Sophia Housing was founded by Jean Quinn in 1997 with the vision to create homeless projects that not only put a roof over someone’s head but also provides wrap around holistic supports to help those it houses to best recover from the trauma of homelessness and live a life away from the chaos of being without home.

The appointment of Geoff Corcoran to the position of Head of Development marks the beginning of a period of substantial growth and development at Sophia Housing.
