Sophia and Abbvie working together to help the most marginalised in Dublin

We are delighted to announce that Abbvie (Liffey Valley) have chosen Sophia Housing as their charity partner for 2014 / 2015. Abbvie will be a key sponsor for the development of a communal area at our soon to be opened Sean McDermott Street project (pictured). The project when open will provide 18 self-contained units of accommodation that will be provided to people on Dublin City Councils housing waiting list.

The communal open space on the ground floor offers massive potential to provide additional services to residents and the broader community. One of the many initiatives planned for this space is a homework club that will be opened up to all children from the community.

Paul Ahearne, Sophia's Head of Fundraising said -

"In a community with low levels of adult education and high unemployment, children need every opportunity and encouragement to continue their education which will naturally afford them greater opportunities in life. Sophia wants to thank Abbvie for their support with this project and we very much look forward to working with them in creating very real opportunities for the young people of North Inner City Dublin."
