
Criteria for Suitability of Service Users
Applicants need to demonstrate a willingness to participate in individual support sessions and group work as outlined in the programme.
A level of stability is required from applicants in order to benefit from the programme – therefore:
- Applicants with addiction problems need to be stabilised for at least three months, and need to be actively engaged with relevant support services.
- Applicants with mental health difficulties need to be actively engaged with relevant support services.
- Applicants with a physical disability need to have the guarantee of a health care package to meet their needs in this area.
- Applicants with a history of sexual offending will not be considered for a Sophia Housing project.
- Applicants with a history of violent behaviour, who may pose a risk to service users or staff will not be accepted in a Sophia Housing project.
- Applicants assessed to be in need of housing but not in need of the service programme, will not be accepted into a Sophia project.
Criteria for referral
Applicants must be registered onLocal Authority’s homeless list. Applicants can be referred by any professional service e.g. HSE, Local Authority, other charitable organisations. Self referrals are not accepted. Applicants with a history of addiction must be three months stable. Applicants must be willing to engage in the support programme.
